Title: Importance of Ct values in clinical diagnostics: evaluation of syndromic testing with DiagCORE vs current methods

Speaker: Dr. Vincent Thibault, Head of Virology Lab, Rennes University

This webinar details how the Rennes University Hospital Virology Lab compared next-generation syndromic testing using QIAGEN’s DiagCORE Respiratory Panel V2 with their current approach for respiratory infection diagnosis.

Acute respiratory tract infections are caused by a wide range of viral and bacterial pathogens, which are difficult to identify with clinical presentation alone. Syndromic testing solutions, with multiplex molecular panels, offer clinical labs a way to quickly identify the cause of infection and improve patient care. How do these new technologies compare to the current methods?

Dr. Vincent Thibault is Head of the Rennes University Hospital Virology Lab, a 1,600-bed university hospital that tests over 3,000 respiratory samples per year. In this webinar he compares the laboratory workflow of the DiagCORE Respiratory Panel V2 to classical molecular methods (or approaches). He also discusses the impact of Ct values on evaluating test performance and identifying co-infection.

This study was done on the DiagCORE Analyzer using the DiagCORE Respiratory Panel V2. Now available as QIAstat-Dx in some countries. Product availability and claims may differ from country to country based on regulations and approvals. Contact your country representative for further details.
